You hear the screams
You cover your ears
You're scared and crying
You want to help
But you don't
You only worry that you'll get hurt
You fight yourself
Tearing yourself apart
You fool
You coward
It's over now
And you didn't help
They're bruised and beaten
You try to comfort them
They don't want comfort
They sit silently
Tears streaming from their eyes
You ask yourself
Why didn't you help?
Now you sit behind the eyes of the offender
Blade in hand
You take a stand
Now they no longer will
