What is this? This white on the ground… It’s so cold, like ice. What is it? The child standing in the snow stared at the sky, watching as the snow fell, lightly hitting his face. He looked down, looking at the ground covered in about three inches of snow. What is this? He sat in down on the snow, playing with it in his hands. He peeked through his hair as he heard light crunches of someone walking through the snow towards him. He lifted his head, looking at the boy in front of him. He stared at him, the new character in front of him. The boy in front of him looked to the side, not looking at him. He could only see one of his ginger colored eyes. Who is this boy? Is he lost like me?
“Um, excuse me…” He said in a small voice. The boy looked at him.
“Who are you?”
“Jawser Kaito…” The boy whispered.
“My name’s Ezon Takashima. Are you lost like me?” Kaito looked at Takashima, his face and eyes emotionless. Takashima widened his eyes a bit, staggering back a bit. His eyes… are so cold… Kaito huffed a bit, and turned to walk away. Takashima opened his mouth to say something, and reached his hand out towards Kaito. Before he knew it, Kaito was gone. Takashima slowly put his arm down. Who was that boy…?
His name ran through his head as he tossed and turned in bed.
He groaned, curling up in a ball in one corner of his bed. What’s happening? He thought as he slowly opened his eyes. Kaito was there… No… It was just a dream… More thoughts ran through his head as he slowly sat up, putting a hand over his eye. He looked over at his clock. So early in the morning… He put his hand down and yawned. He pushed the covers off of him, and put his feet to the ground. He shivered a bit as he felt the cold floor. He stood up, and walked into the bathroom.
He looked in the mirror, staring at his messy black and blue hair. He sighed, and opened one of the drawers. He pulled out a comb, and started combing his hair.
Once he was done in the bathroom, he went back to his bedroom and got out his school uniform from his closet. He slid into it, and looked at himself in the mirror. He grunted a bit, making a face at his refection. Button up shirts and ties just weren’t really his thing… He never learned how to tie a tie, so the tie wasn’t tied right, and looked funky. Takashima just shrugged it off, and grabbed his things.
He glanced at the clock one last time, and saw he was a little early to be leaving for school. He shrugged, and opened the front door and took a step outside.
Takashima sighed as he sat on a bench when he arrived at the park nearby his apartment complex. He looked up at the sky, seeing nothing but grey clouds. Tch, another gloomy cloudy day… He ran a hand through his hair, and let out a breath. He reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone to look at the time. 6:55 a.m. He sighed, and put his phone back in his pocket. He looked around, and saw that there were some other kids wearing a uniform like his. Black button up shirt, blue tie, black jeans, black boots… But instead of black jeans, the girls wore black skirts, stopping mid-upper thigh with blue knee high socks.
Takashima sighed as he looked out the window of his classroom. He didn’t really have any friends he could talk to or anything, so he just sat and stared out the window, or draw in a notebook and wait for class to start. Takashima sighed, and put his head down on his desk. Kaito… Where are you? Are you okay? He gritted his teeth, and clenched his hand into a fist. He loosened up when he saw a pair of shoes in front of him. He looked up slowly from his desk, looking at the girl in front of him. He stared at her, and she just smiled at him. Who is this girl? She’s pretty… He thought, looking her over. He looked up at her when he heard her giggle.
“Sorry…” He said quietly, looking down slightly.
“It’s alright. People always do that, even some of the girls.” She said, smiling again.
“Are you new?” Takashima asked quietly, looking back up at her through his hair.
“Yes. I just started today. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems as if you’ve been here quite a long time?” She said, tilting her head to the side a bit.
“Yeah…” He mumbled.
“My name is Armaki Ryuuki.” She said, bowing slightly. He looked at her, blushing a very light shade of pink.
“Ezon Takashima…” He said, slightly embarrassed. I really hope my first friend here isn’t going to be a girl… That’d be so embarrassing!
“A pleasure to meet you, Ezon-san,” Ryuuki said sweetly. “Do you mind if I sit next to you?” Takashima looked up at her, his eyes wide. He looked to the seat next to him. Empty… Damnit! Well, I don’t want to be rude to her; we did just meet after all…
“S-sure…” He blushed a little more, and looked away. Ryuuki giggled and took her seat next to him.
“Thank you. I didn’t see any other seat available, so I hope you don’t mind,” she said, sounding a bit nervous. He glanced at her, seeing her smile shyly and look towards the front of the classroom.
When class started, Takashima couldn’t help but look over to Ryuuki every now and then. She didn’t seem like any other girl at this school. Usually, the girls are all girly, and talking about boys and other girl things. Ryuuki, on the other hand, didn’t seem like that. If she was any other girl here, she would’ve ignored him, like everyone else. Maybe give him a dirty look or two, but nothing else. What made Ryuuki seem so different from everyone else?
A/N: Okay, there may be a tad bit of romance... as you can tell, Takashima and Ryuuki. ;) Thank you for reading! :) Please tell me what you think, I love reading your guys' comments! :3
