Describing Ethnicity( african-American/African/black people )

Some people I know are not black and when they want to write a black character they don't know how to describe said character.  Most times my friends come to me (because I'm black) to ask how do I describe hair, skin color, eyes etc. etc. And I found the site a few months back that gives much better descriptions and very accurate names of hair types and they even have pictures. So I thought I would share this in case you guys didn't know how to go about describing African-Americans/black people. By the way I say black people more than I say African-American because not all black people are American-American.
