Drawing parallels, the storytelling is inspired by the styles of the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christen Anderson. The setting however is totally eastern-oriental spanning the entire Himalayan region from the highest snow capped mountains of Tibet on downwards to Nepal, Bhutan, the North East also known as the Land of the 7 Sisters and one brother (Sikkim), Burma and beyond.
One of the leading protagonists Dhatu-ra is a wizard who conceives and develops this hidden land with its marvels and mysteries. He wants it be an example of humankind reveling in the beauty and bounty that nature has to offer. But where there are humans there are a myriad of emotions to contend with and he marries the princess of Nepal, Ira-Mati and they have a child whom they christen Qamoona, a synonym of the river Jamuna or more popularly known as the Yamuna.
Qamoona grows up in the verdant surroundings of Sampura but accidentally stumbles inside Surunga when she is just 8 years old. Surunga a magical tunnel which opens out into the ten directions of the world, transports her to the tropical forests of the North-east where she is raised for a considerable time by the chieftain of a local tribe who calls her Jamuna.
She encounters the Kei-mi or a tribe who can turn into animals and learns the magical arts and the art of warfare from the Nong-sho tribe. After blossoming into a beautiful woman 12 years later she is brought back to Sampura where along the way she falls in love with Prince Yakeen, heir to the twin kingdoms of Quicha and Qucha.
