This is a poem that I wrote almost 3 years ago. When it comes to my history as a poet this is my pride and joy. All sites like booksie that I've posted on have this ballad. Originally published under my real name.
By: Julian Johnson
All minds in the room immersed fully
It was more than a game they were playing
As the last voice to be heard this night trailed off slowly
Too much concentration to feel even the most of any aching
The silence came into the room as it had once a long time ago
An entire reputation on the line
The curtains that hung let in only enough light to illuminate the dust
If this goes wrong there will be destruction of multiple minds
A man could almost hear the pipes in the walls grow rust
There were a total of five men in this deal
They all had quite a reputation of getting a bit over their heads
This felt like the moment to uncover what had been concealed
This was the power to make a man turn bloody, numb, and dead
All of the men lay silent in shock of what had been uncovered
It was as if a giant monster had came out of the night
It was an amazing feel to some, others suffered
Lives that are more valuable than what seemed thinkable
This night could be our last
There needs to be something to make it valuable
The five men didn't realize how much time had passed
Time to be felt by each and every soul
One last glare for one man was the wrong decision
Out with a bang and an ugly expression
The last of the men would live on, but in great depression
This is a piece I wrote for a friend of mine, Mandi, it took quite a while to complete, but you can't force inspiration.
I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
The setting is pretty evident, so just let the poem paint a picture for you.
