Using the definition "fairy tale", based on J. R. R. Tolkien essay "On Fairy-Stories", (which I absolute suggest you to read) this fable is a plausible not-so-long-ago story with real characters, in flesh and bone. It uses, however, certain licenses in some matters, but I think they will do nothing but glamorize the product. As for the story, it's a simple one but, it does remark the worldwide changes in literature and myth as we percieve it. Really hoping you to enjoy.
