Set in a dystopian future, a dirty bomb at the headwaters of the Truckee River flood and render the city of Reno, Nevada unlivable. A generation after the disaster, a part of the mostly-abandoned Reno is converted by the totalitarian government of Continental America into a gulag for political prisoners while a larger area acts as a repository for the "Processed" - the unwanted rejects of government medical experiments that quickly devolve into mindless, subhuman cannibals.
All are bound by the Wall - an elevated light rail line running the entire length of the McCarran loop. Once the mass-transit pride and joy of the city, its rails now support "Vectors" - automated weapons which fire on anything and everything that moves into the dead zone inside the ring.
It is within this prison that Goodson is born. His parents having been killed when he was very little, he grew up without ordinary human contact. While there are other human survivors in the city - descendants of those who stubbornly refused to leave during Reno's appropriation - they have only ever tried to kill him. Civilization continues unaffected outside the Wall, but savagery is all Goodson has ever known.
When a woman who, at first, calls herself "Gallina" escapes from the gulag into the larger prison, Goodson's encounter with her changes him, setting him on a path of introspection, exploration, and eventually revolution. Repeated attempts to either disrupt the functions of the prison or to escape it eventually draw the personal ire of the godlike Emperor of Continental America - a being known only as the "Common Man." Through this conflict, Goodson eventually comes to realize the true nature of the city, and discovers a deeper connection with all of its inhabitants.

So, this is not the first book I've written, but this is the first one I will post. This book is a fanfiction based off the game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, so the experience from reading this may be enhanced from playing the game or you may think it doesn't do the game justice and hate this book. If you don't like the book and want to comment, just say "I hate it", but no insult to my writing skills or imagination if you will. If you like the book, then I hope you'll keep reading.
I'm trying to keep this short, but... This book is finished, but I'm not posting the whole thing, in case there is anything I want to change in the story. For those that enjoy this, comment what you think will happen next or what you want to happen next and who knows, I may incorporate it into the story. My upload amount and rate will be determined by you, but like I said, as long as there's only one person reading I will continue to post the original story.
I think I've said enough, so I hope you'll enjoy and hopefully keep the comments free of too much hate.

This is the first 5 chapters of a thriller sci fi book. It revolves around the anomaly of material appearing from nowhere. The matter continues to appear exponentially - I am looking for constructive criticism - dont just tell me its rubbish - :)
“Right now, the AI has taken a defensive stance”, some old man with few too many wrinkles said filling his tablet’s screen from right to left. This book is a action/scifi/dystopian. The protagonist, Thomas Quade, is finding out that every thing is not as it seems. Though he has lived for over 600 years everything is falling apart and the government is trying to get what he has, eternal life. This is my first full-fledged book so I ask for patience and forgiveness from all readers. Thank you.
