Hello All,

I am very excited about starting this House on Booksie. This will be a publishing house/community where we share fantasy stories that feature black characters. African Americans do not have enough representation in this arena, and I'm hoping this will be a place where we can support and share stories that feature our color! This is not meant to be exclusive. I am all for diversity. However, minority groups often get lost in the mix. This would be a place to promote, give tips, share advice, etc, for all writers who are pushing for more diversity in this area of writing. 

***Please note, you do NOT have to be a person of color to join this House. You simply have to follow the below:

1) Have a story featuring an African / African American / Black individual

2) Have a story in the works, but not yet posted? That's fine as well.

3) OR, you'd like to support this House by promoting stories in this category and chiming in on the conversation.

SCIENCE FICTION IS ALSO WELCOME!

Differences between Fantasy and Science Fiction:

FANTASY:
A genre not based in reality presupposing that magic and mythical/supernatural creatures exist.

SCIENCE FICTION:
A genre that extrapolates from current scientific trends. The technology of a science fiction story may be either the driving force of the story or merely the setting for a drama, but all science fiction tends to predict or define the future.
