All day standing at the telephone pole,
Waiting, waiting so long, to catch a glance.
We just want to play. Play and ask him why.
Why is it he stays at home one his own?
All the time he just stays inside the house.
Is there anything that will bring him out?
Why is it he chooses not to come out?
I wonder if he sees us at the pole,
Attempting to get him out of the house.
With all the rumors, we just want one glance.
So we can make assumptions of our own.
And ask the one question on our minds. Why?
Why does he behave the way he does, why?
Someone makes the choice that he won’t come out.
Unknown to us if it was on his own.
So we continue to stand at the pole.
As we wait for our chance to catch a glance.
If only he would step out of that house.
What is his obsession with that strange house?
We just don’t understand, so we ask why
Not allow most people to see a glance
Of you. None of our attempts got you out
Yet, but we won’t give up. So at the pole
We’ll stand, ‘til we find courage of our own.
To walk, not run, by when we’re on our own.
For it’s Asinine to be scared of that house.
It takes a lot to venture past the pole.
There’s no aridity, we don’t know why
Maybe if we forget, he’ll venture out.
If at the right time we can catch our glance.
Now I feel special for I got my glance.
The boys must wait for a chance of their own.
Though he helped us I doubt he’ll come back out.
I doubt we’ll lose interest in that house.
I’m ascertaining we’ll never know why
I still wonder how much we’ll use that pole.
To bad he stays on his own in that house
and no longer comes out. I don’t ask why
anymore. ‘Got my glance without the pole.
