Let’s start this first article by telling you a bit about myself. Don’t worry; I won’t bore you with details. My name does not matter, nor does my age. The demographics in this case are totally irrelevant. As you can see, my pen name is “1000words”, and as you may suspect, my stories and my articles won’t have more than 1000 words because it is not my intention to be a sleeping pill for my beloved reader. I don’t consider myself a journalist, though I did study the field. I am just someone with many things to say. I do not lack imagination, but I am also grounded in reality. Sometimes my way of seeing things won’t be in accordance with the majority, but as everyone else, I am free to share my opinions, and I will gladly read and accept the opinions of those who choose to share them. My general view of things is somewhat pessimistic, but I am not depressed or sad or “emo”. I usually analyze everything and tend to over-think. There are millions of ideas in my head but many of them get lost because unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a day. I hate paragraphs because I can never seem to end one properly and the whole “one idea, one paragraph” is to me a bit restrictive. I will try to cut my text though, so you can read more easily. I am going to do that now.

My native language is not English, so I apologize in advance for any spelling, grammar or phrase construction mistakes you may find in my texts. Books are an important part of my life. It all began with Jules Verne, as far as I remember. Now I read everything, from classics to contemporary authors, from fiction to biographies, from romance to adventure. My taste in music is as versatile as my taste in books. I listen to old rock, new rock, classic music, new wave, country, blues, jazz and many more…a bit of everything actually. Movies are a different story. I am a fan of the new, not of the old, and although there are a few great classic movies which I saw and liked, my taste buds have a thing for all that is recent. I can’t name a favorite genre, but I can tell you my least favorite, and that is horror.

Enough about me. The last thing I want to tell you is my “purpose” here. I want to tell you stories about things I see, thing I like or dislike, thing that don’t fit in any context and maybe even things about what I think are wrong with this world. Ah, yes. You may roll your eyes and say “not one of those again!”. Well, people tend to talk about what’s wrong with things because that’s how the world is being shown through the mass media. No one wants to hear about what’s right. Good things don’t make the news anymore. It’s a known fact. If I were to tell you a story about a little girl who went to school one day and her teachers thought her the lessons they had to teach and then she went home and spent the rest of the day drawing, with nothing big and interesting happening around her, you would stop reading after the first paragraph. It is my intention to tell you stories that will leave you with a little something to think about. And maybe, if you want to share your thoughts on the subject, I will be happy to read and reply. I leave you know with this thought: if the phrase “never judge a book by its cover” would change into it’s opposite, “always judge a book by it’s cover”, how would you design the book that contains the story of your life?
