This poem is one that I only know the true meaning of. However, I have learned that even if one does not understand the author's reason for expression, the reader can always find their own meaning. I wrote this in order to change people and I don't know where it will go.

The willow touches my strife and pushes me

I fall into the good night

The current tosses me about the darkness

But I choose not to go under

The fish taste my fear and rub against my feet

Their scales and the scales of the jags know not the daylight

The stars turn off their wayward candle

But I choose not to go under

The reeds hear my desire and tangle between my toes

And the water bugs write my name in the battlefield

The winged path moves beneath my heart beat

But I choose not to go under

The rocks see my defiance and scuttle to block me

They sink beneath my soft fingertips

The moon rounds the sky and fades

But I choose not to go under

The eagle smells my fatigue and grasps my wrists

And the good night pools into the day

My skin has gone dark and my breathing shallow

But I choose not to go under
