Pain and anger and sadness swirl behind my eyelids,

provoking tears and childish nightmares

For so long I have let them wander inside my head,

eating my every thought, devour my life

letting those swirls of evil take over my head.

No more.

I take an oath to myself,

I will let myself be happy,

I swear this by the Doctor,

Pain will jab its evil fingers in my face,

asking me to join it in the dance of hopelessness.

But I have grown stronger.

I will take a deep breath, and kill it with the hope of tomorrow.

Smile through pain and loss,

learn to dance in the rain.
