They don't expect...

Lady Luck does shine on me, as I do take a look at thee.

Baring cheek and flesh so flawless, I do blush to find you drawless.

No idea of my being, you have no intention of fleeing!

Oh, blessed Gods, Oh, stupendous kindness!

I thank it all to her unknowing blindness!

But what is this, to grace my eye?

Do I note a flawless thigh?

Dear heavens up above, oh no!

It appears that it is dreadfully so...

Oh, unkind Gods, Oh, retched horror!

I hate that I have gained such bother!

Your eye glanced over me, what shall become of thee?

I pray that you would be so kind, that it was not I you did find.

A mere insect on the wardrobe door, or something else that you doth scorn.

But no, I find upset in saying.

There was no help in my silent praying.

A curious stare as you came to inspect, your attention to me now direct.

You seemed to smile as you opened the door, I felt I'd die, and there'd be nothing more.

But instead you crouched down before me, you grinned so wide, your teeth I did see.

You caressed my back to make me stand, I purred quite happily and nipped your hand.

"Oh Bailey, it's only you, I thought 'A RAT!' You scared me near to death, you silly old cat!"
