Crimson Nightmare

Summary

I've had some bad nightmares. Problem with this one was I was awake until the end.

I can't shake

This damned haze

Everything around

Is like a fresco

Edges overlapping edges

Without defining

Most unnerving

Is the stillness

I can't feel

Heartbeat

Don't hear

Breathing

A warm, wet copper taste

In my mouth

Panic now

Why?

Mind races

But body mute to action

I've never felt this void

Like frostbite and absolute zero

Broken doll

Crumpled, falling over

Headfirst dive

Into crimson twin

Meat thuds ashphalt

And the last drops

Of life sprays

I smile

Dead
