While at a service that remembers those that have passed on I attempted to capture the ambiance and feel of the gahtered parishioners sorrow. Another piece written over ten years ago. enjoy

Fluttering candles, a living portrait of dusk

Nuances a gathering

Brought together by a feast

Suculent with memory

Sharing a burden of life

Eases the pain purposely relived

Each word, each gesture shown

A beautiful dance facially woven

An exercise of reflection

Teaching value, deepening understanding

A wisdom born of emptiness

A blurred comprehension of sacrifice

Grateful for the nourishment of love

Yet angered at having to go on alone

An unavoidable macabre

Wounds of the living, scattered across time

Dripping sorrow
