There are times when

A person wishes to be elsewhere

On a beach at sunset

Or in the mountains at sunrise

Other times the wish

Is to be with someone

Beautiful and kind

Understanding, with but a look

Good times occur

When these two mix

How people and places

Cause a moment

Special and unique

To be shared and cherished

The hardest times

Occur with a piece missing

A moment that was

Thought about

But emptiness is present

Reflective posture

As past rushes in, memory

A sky of onyx and pearls

You under moonlight

Affected beyond words

At times of deep serenity

And flaming imagery

I cannot help

But miss you
