It was only a snowflake that fell from the sky.

It was a droplet of water, I recall

It was droplet of water, except it was frozen.

It was small, cold, and alone

But it was special.

It's design was laced with

delicate strings

It was transparent, lonely, and

thin.

It was a little snowflake

So cold and alone

And down from the heavens, it would fall

Onto my hand

It was supposed to feel cold,

but, with great struggle, I felt warmth.

I looked at it, only for a moment

It was what they call beautiful.

And then just as quickly, the snowflake vanished

Gone, forever.

That snowflake was beautiful,

just like all the others,

However, as we all know, and as all need to be constantly reminded: all snowflakes are only made to melt.
