I often dream of what it would be like to stand at the edge of the continent. It would be before I knew stress and responsibility, and I had not a care in the world. I would wear a sundress in the middle of the day that approximates the beauty of the setting sun. I would dance on the rocks that the crabs play in. I wouldn't wear shoes so that I could feel the world beneath my feet. I would sing into the breeze of the ocean air. I would paint the edge of the shore with hues of white and blue oils, ensuring to encapsulate every white freckle from the crashing waters. I would dress the rest of the ocean with more hues of green and hints of purple. Opposite of me would be a town that I know not a soul, and a soul knows not of me.
I often dream of creating such a masterpiece. But I'm following the rules of adulthood. In this world of paying taxes and walking on the sidewalks, there's no room for aspirations of castles in the air, and my debit card just got declined at Panda Express. Such is life.

Sat, February 4th, 2017 7:14pmI read this because of the title, and the story definitely lives up to it. It's really beautiful and captures those dreams and aspirations which are unlimited. It's sad that reality has to catch up with us. Great story.
