This poem depicts my lost youth, the days of my growing years, when everything I did was study and study, to later realise that I had lost the best part of my life.

I kept watching her go
leaving me in great despair
aloof from the world
on my side
I was watching her look back
with hope in her eyes
that one day
I may ask her to come back
alas! she never turned back
I am still waiting...

Her memories are so nice
yet I don't have many
I can't remember times
when I actually shared
some great time with her
all I did these years
was go through the books
earn good degree
earn a decent living
forgot to look back as often
as I should have.

She was so patient
waited for so long
may be she thought I
will call her back,
but Oh! life
what a great torture you gave
before I knew her
I had to bid adeu
so priceless so great
so devine so sweet.

Life is growing
so do I
but what I missed is a
spring of the life
I could not know
when I missed the days
the days of my youth
studies took a long part
jobs another,
now I am trying to see
youth of my kid

But I wonder how long
will she be happy
the bags filled with lifeless
papers and pencil
are being laden on her back
I know for sure
she is gonna
write something similar to this
when she would be
in her late thirties...
