Two-faced emotions. Thank you for reading and please comment :).

I thought I was depressed,
But I was only
sad
heart-broken
craving love, wanting death.

I thought I was sorry,
But I was only
guilty
ashamed
wanting peace, fake forgiveness.

I thought I was happy,
But I was only
breathing
smiling
rotting on the inside, rotten on the inside.

But depression is an empty void,
It's the absence of emotion,
It's death with a heartbeat,
It's thirst quenched with salt water.

But sorry is pinching regret,
It's wishing you were never born,
It's a life indebted to reinbursement,
It's one moment for eternity.

But happy is a simple life,
It's the absence of depression,
It's the absence of sorry,
It's a fairytale I never read.

It is so true what you say about happiness. It is so usually simple. I have experienced it a few times, but it is always on the move. Hard to keep up!
I like your poem because it is so honest. Thank you

Thank you so much for commenting. I'm so glad you could find revelance in my work. Happiness is so simple, when you get it, but it seems hard to achieve.

I read this through a few times. The more I read it, the more I thought about it. I like that kind of poem, the kind that both grabs my attention and makes me think for awhile. Great read.

Thanks so much for spending so much time on my work! :) Yeah, this one is kind of different, thought I'd try something new, which is always hit and miss. This is one of my favourite pieces though, I'm glad you read it! Thanks for the comment :D

This looks perfect! It just jumps in my eyes with reveraling truths! Takes me back to the days of when I first started out. I don't know why I can't write like that anymore. Is that a Paralisist of mine or something? I don't know. But this one you wrote here is FAR more better than how I used to do it! I hope you have MORE like these! [=

Yeah this is my favourite piece, but I sure hope I never get the feelings that conjured this up again. Thanks for you comment though, but I'm sure someday I will look back on this and laugh. I'm sure your old work was quite enviable, you should bring it out sometimes.

I started with reading the first three stanzas and thought: "Oh not again, not another depressing teenager writing about wanting to die", but then I finished and found out: "Oh yes, a quite happy poem, yet sad. It certainly lives up to what you describe it as. Two-faced emotions".
You seem happy, but yet you say you never read about it, almost as if you can't find it anywhere else.

"I like it". Very well written! VWW (that should be an official Booksie abbreviation. ^^

Lol VWW, I'll help spread the word and maybe we can start something ;) Thanks for the quality comment, I wish I was capable of them. It makes me so happy you can reflect upon my piece. I'm not slitting-my-wrists-cause-no-one-understands depressed, I'm not depressed at all really, I'm just feeling :) You have a lot of insight :D Thank you so much for commenting, it means so much! :)

The ending is amazing. The emotion comes on strong, and the way you set it up helps it pop.

Very unique structure, and I like it (hopefully not because it reminded me of the start of those grrreatbStar Wars movies :)). Seems to start with a whisper, almost whimper, then rise to a shout.

Honestly, I struggle with feeling the one dreaded emotion so many are plagued by. Fortunately, it's eluded me this lifetime, but feel for those who must deal with it.

Well done.

I drew a little off personal circumstances but overall it's a depressing story, half fictional :). Thanks so much for your positive response :)
