I wrote this about a person who loved me very much, but by the time I came to my senses they had unfortunately come to theirs.

I never said I loved you,
But there's a lot I didn't say.
Undiagnosed folie à deux
Untreated never goes away.

I looked into your eyes,
But forgot all of my emotions.
I denied your silent cries,
Sacrificing your complete devotion.

When your love suffocated me,
I strained the unsubtle chains.
A constant struggle to be free,
Of your admirable reign.

For years I took you for granted,
Your unrequited love seemed enough.
But now I'm disenchanted,
I should have never called your bluff.

Now the tables have turned
And I'm losing at chess.
The love I once spurned,
Was the love I suppressed.

I kept you at bay,
Never threw you a bone,
The things I never say,
Are the reasons I'm alone.
