Release me from the hell in me
Undo the hurt of poverty
Let me just fall back asleep
Tucked away beneath the tree
Leaves float amongst the breeze
That is where I want to be
Away from this society
The pressures of conformity
The demons of my inner beast
Scars left by insecurity
The product of low self esteem
The judgment of my enemies
Bullets roar within the street
Sons die while mothers weep
Potential of our younger seeds
Lost amongst the shattered dreams
Food stamps and molded meat
Sounds of rape beneath the sheets
The ghetto's crime will surely be
The thing that just might finish me
Death sounds quite good to me
Hope has no longevity
Wake me when the doomed sheep
All take their final leap
Off the cliff of the ticking bomb's final beep
