When you taste that sweet forbidden fruit, it’s hard to get off it. My name is Rodger Sledge-Hammer and I’m the soul creator and singer of the metal band ‘Daughters of the Screeching Ceremony’. I am touring in Spain and I have just finished my last concert in Madrid.  We are flying back to my home town of Hazard in Kentucky in my private jet called the Lamb of God. The band members in my group are the drummer Coby Death, bass guitarist Tommy Slasher and guitarist Scotty Bullet. This had been our biggest gig yet with us earning over 21 million dollars. In my view I am the most talented person in the group because all of the ladies love me. We had just opened this new batch of ecstasy and this is everyday life for us. Doing drugs, smoking, drinking and Rock N’ Roll. We got this batch from the local drug dealer of the city. He said that this is a new kind of eccy and to take the small hit of it because it is that potent. Obviously we weren’t going to listen to him and we started taking our usual doses. Everything started spinning; weird bluey colours started swirling around. Groaning and moaning of distressed souls are literally screaming in my head. One minute we were off our faces, the next we were trashing the back of the plane. My brain is out of control. CRASH, BANG, CLASH, TING. All of a sudden everything went black.

I slowly started opening my eyes; there was rubble all over me and my mind was running wild of all of the possibilities. I slowly started pulling myself out while gasping for air. I finally pulled myself out and stood up while patting myself down because I am covered with red dirt. There is nothing that the eye could see except a few tumble weeds and cactuses. I took a few steps forward while yelling out for my band mates. I had no idea what was going on except that I was in the middle of nowhere with no one. I turned around to see if there was anything behind me; while suddenly the rubble has disappeared. Now I know something weird is going on. I had a look up at the sky and I started seeing words appearing in the sky. Where am I? I could start making out the words in the sky which said: “Welcome to the world of mysteria, the game for survival starts in an hour...” I stared at it in confusion. What is this talking about? I think that the drugs that I had taken are making me hallucinate.

I’ve been walking for about 1 hour now and there was still nothing. In the distance there was something. It looked like a massive black door with a huge golden door hammer on it. As I got closer something in my head is telling me something is going to go wrong. I stopped and listened. The ground started to rumble. I turned around and saw thousands of people running towards me all around racing to the door. A loud speaker started yelling out “Let the games begin” and a huge Sledge-Hammer appeared strapped to my hand. Well this is ironic I thought to myself.  It was a race to the door. The sprint was on, I was petrified. This Mexican guy with this machete is running beside me and started swinging at me so I blocked him with force then whopped him up the head. I am disgusted of what I’ve just done but you do what you do to survive. Somehow I have equipped this new dark skills and this is messing with my head. I am nearly there and there are several people in front of me. There is this dialog sign on the top of the door flashing which says the number ten. I have no idea what it is for. I am about 100 metres away now and I am catching up on the others. 90, 80, 60, 70, 50. The first person went through the door and the number on the top went down to 9. I finally know what it is. It’s the capacity of people that can get through. I had a quick glance behind me and there is literally a tsunami of people running and bashing each other up. 20, 10. The number was down to 2 now. I made it, opened the door and looked behind myself. My eyes captured something. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was Scotty with about five people in front of him. I am shocked. What is he doing here? I had to do something. I stood my ground and started taking down the people in front of him one by one. 1, 2, 3, 4. He was so close now. I can see the fear in his eyes. 10, 9, 8. He was metres away. I was nearly in reach when out of nowhere this chick crash tackles me through the door. The door slams shut. Everything went black.

I am standing in this dark, moist room. Words couldn’t describe how distressed I am right now. Words are shining on the ceiling saying “Congratulation, you have finished the game. Now one more challenge but you need luck...” I started walking forward with interest. I came to one red door and a white door. The red door said the ‘leap of faith’ on it and the other glowing light through it and said ‘Lamb of god’. It had a coin slot in the middle saying “Insert her”. I pulled out of my pocket a coin which I had got from Hong Kong 10 years ago. I grumbled to myself “well it said luck” so I flicked it and it went on heads. A loud voice tells me to put it in the door saying ‘the leap of faith’. I approached the door shaking with fear; I slowly twisted the door knob and walked through tripping and falling into the unknown.

I slowly open my eyes. I’m in a bed with a nurse, Cody and Tommy by my side. I said with a slur “what happened”. Tommy said shaken “we were all in a plane crash. Cody and I carried you and Scotty to the nearest hospital. You and Scotty were in a Coma and not that long ago Scotty was pronounced dead” “We had broken into the driver’s seat of the plane and steered the plane into a paddock near a small town; Killing the two divers” I am shocked. That was not a dream. It was the world of people with Coma’s. A place for luck and survival. I said after a moment of digesting the situation “well I guess we won’t be taking drugs again”. I don’t know how we are going to live without Scotty in our lives. This experience has made us more mature and has changed our lives forever. I have never touched a microphone ever since.
