Poking fun at differences,
Strangely colored, way too short.
Once was curly now is straight
Or spiked way up and won’t fall down.
Frizzy edges, lank and shiny,
None is there or too much “money,”
Partial am I to “who cares,”
But in this time there’s not so many.

Sitting in its rightful place,
(holding honor like a crown)
Our funny out-growth takes its shape
And tells others who we are.
Twisted, braided, pulled up, clipped,
It makes us seem so us.
But better yet the truth remains,
Behold the shining star.
While we may look ravishing,
All dolled up, glam and such,
No beauty could be complete

Without a hair-do to match.
