I swear I won’t pick up the phone
Lately, I’ve not been able to comprehend you
I don’t feel like listening to the tales of a drunk anymore
I tell myself that one day you’ll change
That one day you’ll be a better version of yourself
Your slurred words still haunt me
The ones that tell of hurt and hatred
But half the time you don’t even bother to tell the truth
So why should I listen?
Why should I make myself die inside?
Just stop calling.
Even if I do pick up the phone, I’ll just hang up once again
Until you get the point
That no longer do I want to take care of you
I don’t want to have to worry anymore
I know I’ll be alone, but not for long
I’ll find somebody worth my time
While you’re searching for somebody at the bottom of a bottle
If you’re willing to commit, I’ll help you
And you can stay clean for me
But now you have to listen to me for once
Get sober or get lost
