This is actually a "found" poem, in a way. It was an assignment in my creative writing class where we had to pick a topic and put together lines from other poems to make our own. I picked friendship, and this is what I came up with.

To my friend, who’s more in me than I.
My heart leaps up when I behold
the desire to forget pain from the past.
You make me feel as though all is right.
What’s freedom for? To know eternity,
the kind you could count on.
Bid me to live, and I will live,
never being alone but always together.
You like to think about people who think about you.
Am I touching your heart?
The only news I know is
I honestly care about you.
I love you for what you are,
lovely and virtuous, kind and fair.
Our love shall live, and later life renew.
