Feel the elegance of burgundy
as he twirls you around the
ballroom floor, stopping
only to sip the sweetest wine.
Watch the sun sink
beyond the horizon,
hear the gentle twilight breeze
as twinkling diamonds
appear in the night sky.
Soft piano plays in your ear,
satin brushing your skin.
A dark corner, too many
kisses to count –
he tastes like strawberries.

Burning in your bedroom,
vanilla-scented from England,
as bubbles fill porcelain to the brim.
Opera wails from the house next door,
you close your eyes…
You are just as alone
as you felt all night…
