We all long to be seen,

Like the ocean yearns to spill itself over onto dry sand.

Without a swift violent pull,

But with a slow contemplative drag of the feet,

A purposeful fixation.

To be seen in a way that is captivating

Eyes full of mystery and wonder,

Longing to look just a little longer,

If only their eyes could find your Soul.

We all long to be looked at in a way that shows us someone has found what they’ve been searching for all of their lives,

A look that says “I want nothing more, and nothing less”

with a simultaneous breath,

And a heart that has grown so happy that the sun could burst right through it

And make them as bright as day.

That look of the groom,

That would stop time

just for a moment with the bride.
