I read things every day about the path our government is taking to collect more money to pay for all the programs most taxpayers did not ask for or need.

I read my "daily political poem" to my kids each morning and they get a kick out of it. I will try to post something I feel is worthy until I can't.

We the people of this agency revel in the power we wield
We are subject to no authority as we are protected by a government shield
The people of this great country have given in to all our demands
Because to object to us is to fight against the law of the land
The money we collect goes to programs that need no introduction
With accounting that any good writer would describe as a complete seduction
The rulers of this fiefdom exert their control over their minions
Using the idea of political progression better served in a foreign dominion
Human nature rears its ugly head again on this path of good intention
Despite all the marketing this administration buys to bury all its mention
Where do we go from here now that we are scheduled to carry guns
Anywhere we want because no one will have the opportunity to use their tongues
We have come along way since the days of Lincoln in the time of war
To an organization that exposes the citizens to a government with the inhibitions of a whore
