It occurs with most people as we get older. The time spent wondering what our purpose is in this world. Today, I think it is even more important to ask this question given the control being forced on us and the lack of opportunities offered.

Sitting,

leering,

bating,

shaming,

wandering

the surf in its vastness, confused

Wilful in the knowledge of pondering

the fear that time’s gift is abused

Looking,

leaning,

laying,

wasting,

sapping

energy from our minds vault

listening to voices while napping

brings life to a screeching halt

Stealing,

saving,

lying,

conniving,

dying

to see when the news brings our point of view

While leaders with limitless funding for spying

find new ways to succeed in turning the screw

Hoping,

praying,

pretending,

learning,

waiting

for opportunities that may never appear

Listening to lies designed in hating

those of us that simply want a freakin’ career
