WHAT I MISS IS HARD TO SAY IN ONE WORD
THERE ARE MANY THINGS, THE SUMMER BREEZE, THE PRETTY BIRDS
THE ROWS OF GRAIN THAT LOOK LIKE GOLD
DOGWOODS THAT GROW AND ROSES THAT UNFOLD
PEACH TREES THAT SPREAD FOR MILES AND MILES
FOR PLANT LIFE THAT COMES IN MANY DIFFERENT STYLES
THE FRIENDLY SMILES FOR NO REASON AT ALL
FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU AND MEAN IT WHEN THEY CALL
ALL OVER YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TELL
FROM SAVANNAH TO THE ATL
THAT PEOPLE FROM THERE
FOR OTHERS THEY DO CARE
SO REMEMBER THIS I HAVE TOLD YA
IT IS ABOUT MY HOMELAND, MY BELOVED GEORGIA

Thu, September 10th, 2009 11:15pmVery nice poem indeed. It is nice to be home isn't it? I have always wanted to visit Georgia. I hear it is quite nice. I live in Texas and I am dying to run away to N. Carolina in the fall. I am sure Georgia is beautiful in the fall as well. Great piece.
Sat, September 12th, 2009 3:35pmVery good descriptive words and I can almost picture Georgia in my head.
You are so lucky that your words can rhyme. Rhyming is so hard that's why I don't really write rhyming poems. But you make it look easy.
Deploy then get back to me on missing the homeland.
sorry but at least Ohio is still in the Us.
A very sweet write. I can relate to this when I have been away from home. I live in Kentucky and Gary and I travel sometimes. I am never really happy till we hit the Ky state line. Love this.
