The sun shines on this side of the house
When I draw breath, dust comes around
My book and shirt are both baking
Which reminds me: my back’s aching

In or out of sun direct
This repose is simply wrecked
The open window lends relief
But only for a time so brief
That I’m up immediately
To stop the gust galing in so violently

Simple pleasures, this seat and book
But I need drastic measures to enjoy
To have a seat and take a look
Instead this time and place annoy

Shut up those blinds, I’m dim couched
Block out the breeze, I’m breathless slouched
Plug up my ears
I’ve become an insufferable grouch

Let me out
Let me out
Let me out
