We All Go Down

I’ve been grinding out nines
There’s no way out of here
Living this way was not my idea
I’m at the liquor store
With no I.D. to show
I was a high school boy like just last year

If one goes down we all go down
And I think I’ve had enough
Thinking tonight might be the night you die
Can’t sing my songs and play my six string loud
This illness fills the midnight air
I’ve had enough

There’s no more speed
Nothing to spread
I’ve got to hit the streets once again
One more drink and off I go
Gonna get a bag and die real slow

All those nines gonna pay off now
I’ll get the gear and run on home
The records play my favorite songs
I lock the door like I’m hypnotized
And get shades to hide my blood shot eyes
