I am a man impatient with details I prefer the broad stroke of some large pattern the shades of pink and purple flourishing on a map. But it is hard to ignore such quick jabs of detail at 7:00 a.m. Sunday-my wife off to work the sound of the ambulance- the kestrel mother/father brooding three eggs on somebody's bathroom window sill the sparrows its prey swerving and dodging -breakfast on the wing.
