They formed a gang, each carrying a tiny cube
Of sugar, in a line they'd move.

And biscuit crumbs across the kitchen floor
They'd carry to their home outside the door.

“Unhygienic” said my angry dad,
“You have to act,” said mum, though rather sad.

A million souls now dangled by a thread
A massacre to save our daily bread.

A steaming torrent poured and so they died
Their scalded bodies drowned, lives pushed aside.

What happened to the girl who felt their pain and cried?
