Day-by-day and nine-to-five.
One day a month to feel alive.
This is the day he found his glory.
And this is where he started his story.

Climbing the ladder to gain the height.
He held on to each rung with all his might.
Don't look down till you get to the top.
Don't wonder why, don't fall, don't stop.

For when he got past the final flight.
A beautiful scene, a glorious sight.
Flames in the sky, a million fans.
To congratulate him and shake his hands.

The glamour, the lights, its all the same.
You wanted reason, it brought you fame.
An art so true, an art so fine.
Your time has come, your time to shine.

You learn the trade, the tricks, the name.
You just feel e m p t y, its all the same.
If things were different, before all this.
This never-ending loop of ignorant bliss.
