A poem that I wrote a while back as an assignment for an English class. The idea came from the proverb "to row oneselves canoe" and describes what it's like to live a life alone.

They say I'm a dead person,

They say I'm a lost soul.

But they won't know, don't know, nor knew

What it's like to row oneselves canoe.

They think I'm always lonely,

They think I'm out of hope.

They think I'll never make it through

If I just row my own canoe.

They haven't heard me screaming,

They haven't seen me cry.

To row oneselves canoe,

To flip. To drown. And die.
