Yet another poem that I wrote about my sister, this one was written about 20 minutes ago... I saw a status on facebook saying that a sister is like a best friend, well, I don't even speak to my sister anymore, and it inspired me to write this poem.

Everyone says that a sister is like a best friend

Isn’t it funny how the word ‘friend’ finishes with ‘end?’

And people say that your sister will always be there for you

I wonder what they would say if they knew

Because we don’t even talk anymore

Why can’t things be like the way they were before?

I miss you saying you loved me every night before sleep

I miss all the secrets we shared and the memories we’d keep

I miss you being there to listen to my troubles

I miss you helping me with all my struggles

You were always my saviour

You were always my protector

I wish I could say that I don’t love you anymore either

Because that would make the pain so much easier

But even though I pretend to be bitter

I really do miss having you as my sister
