Painful, it is to tell,

That painful, it is to scream.

Painful, it is to hope,

And painful, it is to dream.

*

Some broken dreams, a broken man,

My broken wings, a broken flight.

The eagle, which once spanned the skies,

A broken bird, afraid of height.

*

Light and joy have left me long.

I hear wolves howl and fiends bark.

Too long have I waited for life,

The past is hazy, the future dark.

*

I saw the pious leave my hand.

I hear the devil call out my name.

Shall darkness gift me a life?

Or shall light slowly end the game?

*

The thunderstorm shows me my path,

The whirlwinds invite me in.

The light threatens to kill me now,

The dark kills the light within.

*

Darkness is my only hope,

Monsters shall watch my back.

A dark womb I come from,

A dark tomb shall take me back.
