A bilingual oddity written at three in the morning one hot August night, in somewhat of a stupor after listening to The Cure for three hours. Please enjoy and review. :)

The Misanthrope ou celui qui s’est échappé

He was 3:00 marlboro and broken glass
Graphite eyes and longing lips
Je veux goûter la vie.
And hollow strings on gray guitars
That twing and twang and twong
Rubbing the ghosts of sleep away
That stick to him like skin.
He was easy girls in vinyl lace
Like burning harlequins.
Bags of flesh with vacant mouths
Qui crachent les mots sans cesse.
And feather stalks from greasy pillows
And acrid ink staining paper.
He was withered clouds and dead suns
In milky skies beyond the asphalt
He was
He is
Lui.
