I think you and I are just kidding ourselves. I think you know this won't work out. It's tearing me apart But you're on one side and I'm on the other Tug of war we play With our hearts in the middle You give, I take I beg, you go Back and forth until we're both broken What is this love, really? It's comfortable It's familiar It's your smile and your beautiful eyes It's your laugh with your crooked grin It's your arms wrapped around me holding me tight It's your good morning and goodnight kisses It's your essence and being... But it's your eyes darkening and turning cold It's your voice so sharp, cutting like a knife It's your hands that ball up in fists of rage It's your actions conflicting with your words It's your fault and mine, really. And we can pretend. We can keep existing in this place where neither of us knows where to go from here We can keep ignoring the questions and avoiding the inevitable We can move close and drift apart all over again We can love and wait for one more catastrophe But I think you know we're just kidding ourselves.
