The day I became MORE
Poem by: afatrat
I see fire, I see smoke,
I see thriving weeds that choke.
Wailing sirens, funeral pyre.
Everything is growing dim.
I have the sudden urge to....swim?!
Why not? I think, I'll carry on...
I rise above the wreckage.
I see my car, on the edge,
Teetering, while they come.
The police, the witness, and then some.
I hope, that one day, I'll find out WHY.
WHY did I die?
I turn away.
What, no pearly gates or sign to point the way?!
I panic, then I run.
What am I supposed to DO?! It's done,
I can't find my way back.
Whick way's the right track?!
With nothing to lose,
I guess I'll consent to go on.
And so I run until dawn.
Then I sit awhile.
I see a girl, her heart going a million miles an hour,
Sitting in a tower,
In a mansion, of a kind.
Her young face weary and lined,
Muttering about suing,
and "what was he DOING"
and how he made her heart sore.
I was worried. What was she crying for?
So I moved forward to comfort her.
Suddenly, a whoosh, a blur,
And I'm inside her head.
Oh yeah, that's right, I'm DEAD.
Trying to process
The fact that I've possessed
A girl I used to know..... MY SISTER.
Her secret boyfriend had borrowed my car
--Ripped out the brakes, didn't ya MISTER!?--
And into town they went,
and.....POOF my sis was pregnant!
(Now let's be frank,
You can fill in the blank.)
He dumped her, then I died,
She wished life could be simplified...
Then I felt a tug
and a sort of tiny hug...
Then I realized what would happen
How I'd return to the world again........
