Caught a feather in the wind
I knew it belonged to him
It was marked like mine with the same shape and size
I wished to give it back
For the feather is necessary
If he is to achieve the proper heights of his flight
But he just fluttered by too busy to stop as he whipped his wing in other direction
Another feather dropped
This one I gathered as the first and there I found another on the floor
My one small feather I found is now grouped with three or four more,
How long can he fly without these things so crucial to his flight,
I will lay these feathers in a golden box for perhaps some distant night
We he will return wise and worn from the struggles of the wind
And from the golden box I’ll return his feathers for his second flight again
