I walk across the ageless library full of classics that adorn each shelf to find Rudolph. After walking past a dozen aisles, I heard a deep voice near by.

"Strands of lightning strike across the frigid, bleak air

Mesmerized by the flashes as I stand still and stare

Should we hide for cover and feel fear?

For all the flowers lay still in darkness without a care

Are flowers as unpredictable as the beating heart?

They blossom when ready and at any time fall apart

Are they all as unique as a lover's face?

Every line, angle and curve all in place

Does standing in an open field at night feel lonely?

It pales in comparison to a broken heart that ages bitterly

Heart strings turn to ice without a special key holder

Who can live a life full of color when the heart grows colder?"

"Rudolph old chap, is that you?"

He then straightened his spectacles and took a closer look and his face was filled with joy.

"Duke? Is that really you? I am always glad to see you my old friend. Please have a seat."

I gave him a firm hand shake and pat on the back before taking a seat across from him. The memories of our earlier years had suddenly flashed across my mind. We had much to catch up on.
