A cold winter night
so dark, so distant
I hear low whispers
don't know who's there, or isn't
Sweaty palms and shaky breathing
so lonely, so scared
I can't open my eyes
and don't know if anyone cared
Floating up into a cloud
so soft, so peaceful
I surrender myself
my existence no longer meaningful
And then there was wind
so fierce, so quick
A light starts to shine
My body sent down in a whisk
Pressure and pain engulf my being
so sudden, so unyielding
Faces begin to appear
Blood dripping and eyes tearing
Soft hands caress my face
so gentle, so caring
A reassurance that everything was alright
I'm carried away to safety, everyone staring
With a final goodbye as I go on my journey
so comfortable, so calm
I fall into a light sleep
There were no worries, none at all.
