'A bruised face'

A cross of wood upon his back

upon his heart my name

a weight of sin no-one could bear

he bore it with the shame

A blood stained brow, a bruised face

his form more marred than men

a thorny crown, a name renowned

he loved me to the end

My need was met, and now he's set

upon his fathers throne

his rightful place, that blessed face

one day in glory I'll see
