The music pulsating through my veins, my head throbbing with the beats yet all I can feel is her. Every move she makes, I am watching in fascination. The dance floor is empty except for her. In my eyes she is the only one, she is all I can see – the rest is a blur. Blinded by her, but she doesn’t even notice me staring.

Hypnotised.

Someone calls my name through the noise, I am brought back to reality with a jolt, look away, look back again – her. She’s still there; she once again transfixes my eyes.

Entranced.

The lights flash, people stand around her, she is lost for a moment but then returns in all her beauty. I just can’t look away. Afraid that if I do, I will miss an invitation to join her.Her body moves in sync with the music tempting me to make a move but I somehow manage to contain myself and remain in my seat.

Frozen.

Only ever wanting to stand up and make my way towards among the sea of bodies unrecognisable during my current state of mind. One half of my mind urges me to go over and join her, the other tells me to stay where I am.

Confused.

My mind is suddenly made up when she comes toward me in slow motion, reaching out her hands towards me.

Disbelieving.

She pulls me up by the wrists and drags me to the dance floor under the lights. Her hands on me, my hands on her. Moving as one to the rhythm. Sway. Step. Together.

Dance.
