A Loop in Tyme by AJ Mynde
Chapter 1: The Introduction of Tyme
The year was 1970 and the day was as any other day that Dr.Tyme has gone through, but there was the odd feeling of something was out of place, from a young age he always sensed odd occurrences all the time, that someone was watching him everywhere he went. As the day progressed and he was teaching his class at the Oxford School of Science he felt that the time had come for him to retire, as he was presentation his new ideas of paradoxes to his class a young man round about the age of 22 stood up and said out loud in the class, "But you can't", Tyme said straight away to the young man "Sit down". As the day at the School drew to the end the thing that the young man said in the class popped into Tyme's head and he wondered what the young man meant by it, so he tried finding the young man around the school, but without success he couldn't find him at all, as the bell rung and all the students went home, Tyme looking puzzled couldn't find the man anywhere. As the weeks progressed the young mans outburst was still bugging him even more, as the young man was no where to be seen anywhere, Tyme wanted to know who the young man was, there were many sleepless nights as he wanted to know who the young man was so bad.
As the year drew to a close Dr.Tyme saw the young man down the street but he didn't look all that young from when he saw him in the class that day but looked round about 35 years of age, so Tyme confronted the man, as he was running down the street to catch up with the mysterious man, the man turned a corner, as Tyme shouting to the main in an out of breath voice, "wait, you their wait, hold on" as Tyme approached the corner, the young man was no where to be seen, now Tyme think is he going crazy, wondering if the man he saw is real or in his head, as the years went on the man still bugged Tyme, he went to many physiatrist about his problem who said that he could have been imagining the man, still left in the dark with no answers of who or what the man is Tyme forgot about the man and moved on with his life and settled down to retired life. Tyme visited his long time friend George at his home, Tyme knocked on George's door, and a voice from inside the bungalow said "Doors Open" as Tyme entered the bungalow, and saw that George was sitting in his armed chair watching an episode of Doctor Who on his small new television, "Oh wow George, when did you purchase the television" spoke Tyme, George mumbled "Today..... are you going to sit down or what" said George in a darker tone, "Yyyyess" stuttered Tyme.
As both of them watched Doctor Who in George's bungalow, George hesitantly spoke and said "I-I-I know the future Eddie" as this was Dr.Tyme's first name, "Ok, ok, ok i think enough of this show, i think it's gone to your head George" laughed a hysterical Tyme, "No, I know the future Eddie, remember the night we met" said George, "Yes, I remember, at the corner shop, on Lang Street" said Tyme, "Well I came through a hole in time from another time" replied George "Right stop it now, your not making sense" said a annoyed Tyme, "Ok I will prove it to you, you have seen me before" Gorge replied "Hav" said Tyme being interrupted by George, "Let me finish, right I first came into your class in 1970" said George being interrupted again by Tyme, "That was", "Let me finish Eddie", "Ok" replied Tyme "Right I first came into your class in 1970 and told you not to retire, and also came to you in 1972, you chased me down the street, i was going to tell you how you was going to die but" said George again and being interrupted by Tyme, "What how I'm go" said Tyme, "Yes, now let me finish, how your going to die, but it was too risky, so I came back when I was much older and became friends with you, it was the only way i could protect you from your death" said George, Tyme replied saying "How do I die", "That's the problem, you shouldn't die, because I was, well let's just say I know you in time to come" said George.
As Tyme and George had their conversation, Tyme went home and couldn't sleep from what George has told him, he just laid their in bed with his eyes open staring at the ceiling. All of this information that George has told him kind of made Tyme worried and that he was going to die or not. As the morning loomed in and Tyme still awake, he got out of bed, walked over to his window and opened his curtains and looked out into the lightly darkness of the morning, as he walked away from his bedroom window and down his stairs, he saw an envelope on his floor near his front door, as he walked over to the envelope and picked it up, he opened it, and found that there was a note from George, well more like instructions, he went into the kitchen and started to read the instructions but didn't understand then to a great extent, as he read out loud a section of the letter saying, "Blah Blah David Tennant, David Tennant, who's David Tennant" Tyme looking confused put the letter into his coal fire and burnt it. As the day progressed into the afternoon Tyme went round to George's bungalow, to find that there was a park and no bungalow their, as Tyme spoke to a passer by "Hey what happened to the Bungalow what was here yesterday", "What bungalow, there's never been one here" said the man, as the man walked away from Tyme look puzzled, Tyme went back home and sat in his armed chair, thinking is he going crazy or what.
Chapter 2: Tyme for Answers
As the the year of 1980 came Tyme still wondered if he was really going to die or if that George and the bungalow was all part of the imagination, as the time went on Tyme found love in Alison who worked in the local library, Tyme went their to understand time better, but found unsuccessful theories that George has told him about, this was Tyme's fascination of everything that George has told him that night, one day when Tyme was reading a book on paradoxes in the library, as he was the only one in the library Alison came up to him and they started talking and discussing time travel and paradoxes, Alison gave a vague expression to Tyme and said how she thinks time travel is fiction and not possible, as the weeks went on Tyme attended the library often to visit Alison, and he then eventually asked her to dinner, "Hey, if your not busy tonight, we could I don't know, maybe crab something to eat" said Tyme, Alison replied quickly and said "Yes i would love to". As they both left the library, Alison locking up and closing the doors, they both went to the La Rouge Restaurant on Queen Street, this also being the street where George's house apparently being. "What you looking at" said Alison looking at Tyme in a puzzled expression, "N-N-Nothing, nothing, let's go get something to eat" replied Tyme.
As the years progress Tyme's and Alison's love grows and they get married in the year of 1987, as just Tyme is turning the age of 47, and has totally forgot about his running in with George and started his plans on starting a family with Alison, as making new friends with their next door neighbor Mark and Kerine Waters, as both Tyme and Alison go round next door to the Waters house and introduce them, and ask them round for dinner, as Tyme knocks on their door, Mark answers "Hello, how can I help you", George replied with a sudden shock, because Mark reminds him of George and answers and stutters by saying, "W-W-Well me and m-my wife was wondering if you and your wife would like to come round for d-d-dinner this evening", "Urmm well, we would gladly like that" replied Mark. When Tyme get's back to his house he walks over to his armed chair and sighly sits in it and with a still shock expression on his face, is trying to work things out, unsuccessfully he arises to his feet and put on the television, grabs the remote and slouches back into the armed chair and begins watching Starsky and Hutch, "Hey, love your not watching this episode again are you, it's been on before" said Alison, Tyme mutters back to her saying "Yea" and just sits their watching the episode.
As the evening progresses, Alison tells Tyme to go upstairs and get ready for dinner because Mark and Kerine will be here soon for dinner. He arises to his feet and walks up the stairs, he walks into his room to see George standing their in his room, "What are, are you even real" said Tyme "Yes, did you read the letter I left you" replied George, "No, I burnt it" replies Tyme, "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BURN IT" says George angrily "Because I didn't make any sense, like it said David Tennant, who the hell is he" said Tyme, "You don't understand, you needed to read the letter properly, because your going to die" Replied George, "Ok, you keep saying, why do you look like my next door neighbors" Tyme said to George, just before falling to the floor and fainting. "Edward, Edward, dinners ready" Alison calls up to him from down stairs. As Tyme is awaking and getting to his feet, and feeling sick and nauseous he turns around and looks where George was standing to see no one their, "Edward dinner, we have guests coming" said Alison in a higher pitched voice, "I-I-I'm coming love, give me a minute" replies Tyme.
As the guests arrive Tyme comes down stairs, and they all sit around the table and eat the roast dinner that Alison has cooked, and Tyme starts talking "So Mark you got a job or anything", "Yes, I work at the Oxford School of Science, i saw your picture on one of the staff boards" replies Mark, "Yea, I used to work their until i retired from that job, now I work down the local butchers...... any children", "Well me and Kerine are working on out first" replies Mark "Oh that's nice" Alison says, "Me and Edward have be trying for a year or so, so hopefully we will have out first soon" Alison said. As the evening progressed and both Mark and Kerine went home, while in bed Alison said to Tyme, "Shall we try tonight love", a speechless Tyme slowly and stuttering Tyme replies "Y-Y-Yes love". As the year progressed Alison fell pregnant with her first child as did Kerine. Alison and Kerine grew closer and closer as the year progressed as well and Tyme wanted to keep an eye on Mark so he became friends with him as well, because Tyme didn't know what or who George was and that Mark looked exactly like George, and that Tyme was interested in finding out who George was.
Chapter 3: Running Out of Tyme
As the years progressed for Tyme, Alison and their daughter Mary Ann, the years become more stressful for Tyme, also finding out that George who he has been seeing all these years is the son of Mark and Kerine, this has been all getting on top of him and has been hiding in the house for some time now, as one day George reappears, and Tyme sees him across the road in the park, so he goes over to the park, but when he gets to the park George is no where to be seen, but their is a note on the floor where George had been standing, as Tyme knelt down and picked up the note, and slowly opened it and saw that the note read, "YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME MY FRIEND" an upset and angrily Tyme screwed the letter up and threw it in the dustbin beside the bench. Tyme walks away from the bench and out of the park and back into his house where he slowly walks over to his armed chair and sits quietly as he tries and figures out if he is crazy still out sane.
As Tyme is out shopping and he notices Kerine out shopping as well and walks up to her and starts talking to her "Hey Kerine, how's everything going", "Hey, Ed everything is good thank you, what about you" replies Kerine "Everything is fine thanks" Tyme replies. "Do you fancy grabbing something to eat before you head off" Kerine says to Tyme, "Urmm Sure I have nothing planned" replies Tyme. So both Tyme and Kerine go to La Rouge for dinner, and they have a discussion and their friendship blossoms as they discover they like some of the same things, and they also discuss their sexual life, like how many time they have sex with their partner and Kerine says to Tyme that she thinks that Mark doesn't love her as much anymore and that she think he is bored with her, and Tyme says that ever since Mary Ann was born that him and Alison haven't had any sexual contact since.
As they are finishing their dinner, Tyme says to Kerine that he thinks she is beautiful and any man would be lucky to have her, she replies to him by saying "Thanks, your really nice, Ed", "Well we could go to the motel down the road" replies Tyme. Thinking she would walk out straight away and go and tell his wife Alison, but Tyme is shocked when she agrees and says "The motel it is then" laughing and smirking, as both of them drive down the road to the motel, Tyme goes and books the room and Kerine waits outside, "Got the key Kerine" says Tyme, and they both enter the motel room, as Kerine is undressing Tyme is having second thoughts about weather to go through with it or not, because he loves Alison but Kerine reassures him that this is meaningless sex, and they both get onto the bed. They both come out of the motel room and Kerine tells Tyme that she had a good time today, and that she doesn't want it to be over between both of them, and Tyme aggress that they could carry it on without both Mark or Alison knowing about their encounter with each other and both tell each other that they will keep it a secret.
As the year draws towards 1995, Kerine and Tyme still have their encounters in the motel room and things have become complicated because Tyme and Kerine have both fallen in love with each other and have been meeting regularly for sex and Karine wants Tyme to get her Pregnant, but he says "Don't you think thats a bit too risky love", Karine replies "I know but I thought you loved me", "Yea, I do but what would Mark think you becoming pregnant, you two don't have sex no more, do you" says Tyme, "I just want to be with you and not him, can't we just go away with each other" replies Kerine, "You have a family, what about Mark" Tyme says, "I know i wouldn't leave him" replies Kerine in a upsetting tone. As Christmas of 1995 comes, both Tyme and Alison are both round at Mark and Kerine's house for Christmas and Kerine has been wanting Tyme for some time, as she whispers in Tyme's ear, "I want you on my, pounding me so hard" as Mark is watching her out of the corner of his eye, Tyme chokes a little and says "Ok" and then write a note with a time to meet him at the motel.
When Kerine has gone out to meet Tyme at the motel, Mark goes to the bin and finds the screwed up note that Tyme had given to Kerine earlier and finds out that they are meeting tonight at 11 at the Grade A Motel, room number 7, as Mark is driving round to the motel, Karine is telling Tyme how much she had missed their encounters over the pass month and that she wants him and not Mark. As Mark approaches the motel and parks at the front, and then walks the rest of the way, until he gets to the door, Mark tries the door handle to find the door locked, until the door is answered by a Tyme in a towel, "You son of a bitch" Mark says angrily to a shocked Tyme "Mark" Kerine says with a shocked look on her face "You are both fucking despicable, and think I called you my friend" says Mark with an aggressive tone in his voice, "Don't tell A" said Tyme being interrupted by Mark, "What don't tell Alison, is that what you was going to fucking say", "Yes let me tell her" replied Tyme, "No fucking way, I discovered your affair, so I'm going to fucking blab".
As Mark storms round to Tyme's house to tell Alison, as Tyme is arriving home, he see's Alison and Mark at the door, when Tyme get's out the door, he is greeted with Alison saying that she wants him out of the house tonight, he says "Where am I going to go", "Why don't you go where you've been fucking that bitch" replies Alison. An upset and angry Tyme gathers his belongings from his home, before leaving hits Mark "You Bastard", as Tyme is driving back to the motel, he notices Kerine, and pulls over "Hey where you heading" she replies with an upset tone in her voice, "Home, you", "Back to the motel, Alison's kicked me out" replies Tyme, "Can I join you love" she says, "Sure love" Tyme replies to her, as she is in the car she replies to him by saying "Thanks" with a bit of joy in her voice.
