The dark of the day

The luminous night

Both bow down

Before taking flight

To breath

And to sigh

Brings a chill ever near

A reminder that winter is nigh

This sister first tends

A simple lullaby

One of comfort hope

Promises of new life

A flick of her wrist

A touch of her hand

A small pond

Slowly turns hard as the land

Tall hay stalks

Will not bend

No longer supple

Become traces of the wind

Slowly her warm laughter

Changes dreary drops

Refreshes them and creates

A mantle of snow envelops

The skies to mirror

The radiance below

Reflect lost light

Tell stories all do know

The world anew

A freshened state

A still living picture

A regally clad estate

The white virgin world

To come be born anew

A new mother with a child

Does swaddle and coo
