The rolling waves reflected

The images of the skies,

Mingled with the colours of the sunset

Reflected in my eyes,

Damp mists hung in her eyes.

You held in these eyes sunset

And dawn, exuding perfumes

Like a stormy eve.

Your kisses are an elixir

And your lips an amphora.

From the deep or stars above?

My love,

Dancing amorously in lieu

Of the panting lover.

Burning Africa of scented lands,

Flayed earth of infinite sands,

Live long ecstasies under

The heat of the suns

In ebony seas.

Enraptured in your dark oceans,

Sliding amid gold, to embrace

A pure sky trembling with eternal heat.

My subtle spirit, caressed,

By the rolling waves

Within twisted locks harbour

Coconut oils and the musk of Cythera.

The oasis where I dream,

Languorous dreams soaked in wine,

Beneath the vaults of the night sky

And blue immensities that kiss

That coldness which makes your beauty boundless.
